Pronghorn Passage: yellow to red

With support from the National Geographic Society and the University of Wyoming, Joe Riis is working on an inspirational public awareness project focusing on the western Wyoming pronghorn migration. Specifically the pronghorn that summer in Grand Teton National Park and traverse the Gros Ventre Mountains to winter in the Upper Green River Basin and northern edge of the Red Desert. This is the third longest overland mammal migration in the world and is threatened by gas mining and the roads, housing, and other development associated with it. Joe is collaborating with Emilene Ostlind on this project, she is an emerging nature writer with a vision that will lead the pronghorn into the future. Check back this fall for project updates!
